HUYTON TODAY is funded by Huyton HELP and is a direct response to the request of the local community (Pathways) grass roots organisations to allow local children to have some say in the Huyton of tomorrow.

Pupils at Knowsley Hey School are an integral part of the process of producing this unique community newspaper, receiving valuable opportunities, skills and experiences.

All stories which appear in Huyton Today are pupil-centred, with children closely involved in the newsgathering and production.

Huyton Today is professionally printed and distributed to over 14,500 homes in the Pathways area of Huyton.

The newspaper also plays in important part in the curriculum at Knowsley Hey, with all year 7 pupils receiving a series of small group lessons in the newspaper office. These lessons successfully combine English, Media and ICT skills and lead to a recognised technology award - CREST (Bronze).

Huyton Today is published three time per year -  at the end of each school term. The first edition “hit the streets” in December 1997.

The Huyton Today offices are situated Knowsley Hey School. Readers’ contributions are always welcome. Write to us at:
