The Newspapaper Project at Knowsley Hey School

All of our year 7 pupils come into the newspaper office for a series of small group lessons.

During these four timetabled lessons, pupils are introduced to the world of newspapers and journalism through computer presentations, internet work and desk top publishing. All pupils have the opportunity to write their own news report based on basic information given, and are required to produce their own newspaper front page.

These lessons successfully combine English, Media and ICT skills and lead to a Bronze level CREST award.
