Cartoon feature

Regular readers of Huyton Today will have spotted the difference in our cartoon strip feature. Jessica has now left the area and the hunt is on for a new cartoonist.

A competition within school here at the Huyton Today offices has produced some worthy offerings and some of the entries are featured here. Katie Fearns, aged 13, won the overall competition and is seen here receiving her prize of a super set of drawing materials. Katie has produced this edition’s cartoon and winner Daniel Stanton, aged 11, is shouldering the mighty task of producing the strip for next spring’s edition.

The response to the competition was excellent and artist John King, a freelance cartoonist whose work features in many major publications, will visit youngsters in the new year to offer advice.

If you think you could produce an original artwork in cartoon form then contact us here at the office. Restrictions of space means that all entries can not be published but special mention must also go to Hannah Carr, George Theodoru, Daniel Burns and Robert Carlisle.
