Muddy Wellies
Pictured: Successful horticulture students show off their skills
|
Continuing in the tradition of Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock, a number of Huyton residents have recently achieved Muddy Wellies status following the successful completion of a basic skills horticulture course. The successful students have learnt to identify a range of plants for all year round colour, plant hanging baskets to brighten up the outside of their homes, learn how to sow seeds and take cuttings and also enjoyed a free trip to Ness Gardens on the Wirral. The course was organised as part of the Huyton Local Agenda 21 project, working in partnership with the Groundwork Trust and funded through the Huyton Single Regeneration Budget. Plans are in place to run similar as well as more advanced courses next spring. For more information or to book a place call Jane Palmer on 0151 443 2276. |
