Jean Myers was born in Liverpool, and works for Knowsley Council as the Partnership Manager with Huyton HELP SRB. The early part of Jean’s career was spent with Liverpool City Council when she was appointed to Liverpool Education Authority. Her varied career has included working in Human Resources and management of training programmes for teachers. In 1992 Jean moved into the Urban Regeneration field as Finance and Administration Manager at the newly established Liverpool City Challenge. She became Assistant Director, and then Acting Director in January 1996, remaining with City Challenge until the end of the programme in March 1997. Jean subsequently worked as Corporate Relations Manager with Liverpool City Council’s Economic Development and European Affairs Unit. She has been involved in the creation of Liverpool City Partnership and has subsequently become Company Secretary with Liverpool Vision. Jean lives in Liverpool with her husband Andrew, and has a son, Sam, at Leicester University. Huyton Today will be featuring an interview with Jean in the New Year. |
