Reporter Training Day

On Tuesday 18th July a group of 20 pupils from Knowsley Hey experienced the role of a reporter for the day.

The day started with pupil reporters analysing stories and experimenting with the layout and selection of photographs and stories on facsimile pages on computers.

This was followed by a talk from local photographer Geoff Roberts who offered valuable guidance and advice for the second part of the pupils’ day - the role of photographer.

Armed with a dozen cameras and an almost inexhaustible sense of purpose and enthusiasm, the party descended upon Acorn Venture Urban Farm in Kirkby (we worth a visit this summer mums and dads!). They they proceeded to take photographs for the RSPCA Young Photographer Awards 2000, drawing heavily upon Geoff’s expert advice.
