Urban Conference Highlights Success

The growing social and economic success in Huyton was highlighted during a recent three-day conference.

The Huyton Urban Conference on the 7th-9th March at Huyton’s new Multi-Purpose Resource Centre was aimed at targeting funding towards areas that need further development such as employment, education and training opportunities.

The people of Huyton and Knowsley Council hosted the conference which looked at initiatives already in place which have helped improve the social and environmental aspects of Huyton, including Sawpit Park, the recently opened Multi Purpose Resource Centre and Huyton Community Transport.

The Conference also brought together delegates who have benefited from European URBAN funding which has helped develop 'grass root' projects. The event gave project managers the opportunity to share good practice and develop future working relationships with residents and employees of Knowsley.
