Members of the Knowsley Youth Forum recently took a unique step in getting their voices heard - by making their own record!
The forum worked with local musicians in writing and recording their song, called "Respect", and spent 5 days in pinball recording studios in Liverpool. One hundred copies of the CD have been produced and sent out to local and regional media and other agencies.
Youth Development Officer Beck Dove told Huyton Today, "The young people felt that they didn't have a lot of respect from adults. This was their way of telling people how they felt. Although we know that one CD is not going to change anything, music is a good way of getting the message across."
