Knowsley’s Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (EYDCP) set up their own quality assurance scheme to monitor and vet organisations who provide training and support for those who work with young children.

The first 11 organisations to successfully pass the standards have now received their certificates and can now boast the title “accredited training provider”. They are:

  • Huyton Churches Training Services
  • Local Solutions
  • Shared Learning in Action
  • Pre-school Learning Alliance
  • Barnados in Huyton
  • Knowsley Council's Leisure Services Department (boroughwide)
  • Knowsley’'s Portage Service (boroughwide)
  • APL Training based in Kirkby
  • Knowsley Community College (Kirkby and Huyton sites)
  • Knowsley’s in-house EYDCP (boroughwide)
  • North West Training Providers

Janet Platt, EYDCP Training Officer, commented: "We decided to start the award scheme so that students could see who had attained EYDCP's standard. This is the first time we have run such an initiative and it has proved so successful that we are opening the doors in July and November for other Early Years training providers to be assessed for the standard."

Organisations interested in taking part in this opportunity should contact Janet Platt direct on 0151 443 5644.
