Lend Your Time as a Community Service Volunteer

A call is going out to Huyton residents to get involved as Community Service Volunteers with the ‘Lending Time’ project based in Huyton Library. Volunteers will have the opportunity to develop their vocational skills, improve their CVs and expand their social network.

Lending Time is a three-year national project managed by Community Service Volunteers (CSV) supported by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and the Active Communities Unit of the Home Office.

Huyton Library hopes that the project will serve the dual role of enhancing its service provision whilst involving members of the community. Opportunities will range from a couple of hours a week to full time projects.

It is hoped that pupils from local schools will also be able to get involved, as these volunteer opportunities link to the government agenda of citizenship that will be a requirement in the school curriculum from September 2002.
