Pupils at Knowsley Hey School can now get into school early to enjoy a healthy breakfast with their friends. The Breakfast Club is organised by mentoring staff at the school.

“Through the club we are trying to raise the punctuality and attendance of some of our children. The club also helps the pupils to develop their social skills through peer interaction. It's also about giving the children a healthy start to the day,” said pupil mentor Colette Aslanian.

As part of the campaign to boost attendance and punctuality, several children have been given alarm clocks. Colette is also planning to give the pupils a taste of food from around the world by serving up a series of ‘themed’ breakfasts.
