Balloon modellers, stilt walkers and face painters were amongst attractions at the recent the Fun at Huyton village day held in Huyton town centre.

The Jubilee Family Fun Day was organised by Knowsley Council, with assistance from Asda who helped to sponsor the event.

Live music was provided by a Beatles tribute band, whilst Mr Keith’s Magic Show kept the children entertained, along with stilt walker Crazee Hazee.

Local school children designed a crown for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee. The competition for the Best Jubilee or World Cup shop window display was won by Flares in Lansdowne Way. Knowsley's Mayor Councillor Dave Friar and Mayoress Jackie Friar (pictured above) judged the competition.

Peter's Big Day

Knowsley Hey reporter Peter Mawdsley revelled in the excitement of London’s Jubilee celebrations.

“I saw the Queen’s golden carriage which looked incredible. The fly past with Concorde and the Red Arrows was really spectacular and very noisy! The best thing was being among so many thousands of people,” said Peter.
