This August, Huyton will host the 4th Annual Knowsley Flower Show, which is set to be even bigger and better than ever.

Over 8,500 visitors flocked to the event last year and organisers are confident that even more people will be attracted to this year's show which takes place at Court Hey Park in Huyton - the award winning National Wildflower Centre.

The show is expected to be one of the best free days out on Merseyside with over 400 exhibits in the flower marquee, better prize money, additional entertainment for children and families and an improved Park and Ride scheme.

Young gardeners of the future are joining their more experienced counterparts in entering categories in the show. There are over 100 classes for the experienced gardener and several for the novice including vegetable and cut flower categories as well as the floral art classes.

“We are encouraging everyone to enter a category and have a chance to win cash prizes,” said Carla Garner, Event Coordinator from Knowsley Council. “The day will also include attractions such as dog obedience, circus skills, falconry and art workshops for the children. The KCR roadshow will be there to get everyone into the spirit of the day and you can spend your money in the excellent craft marquee. Prize money and garden equipment prizes are up for grabs - come along and be part of a fantastic day.”

Lord Derby will open the show, which also includes guided walks, Gardeners‘ Question Time and a craft fayre.

More information can be obtained from Carla on 0151 443 3120.
