Fantastic plastic sculpture

Following Liverpool’s successful Capital of Culture bid, Knowsley’s Cultural Festival is now in full swing providing scores of diverse events right across the borough.

As part of the festival, children attended a special workshop in Huyton Gallery to work with Knowsley’s Environmental Artist, Nancy Price (pictured above), to create a huge sculpture out of recycled pop bottles.

The fantastic plastic sculpture towered right up to the gallery ceiling and while the children enjoyed creating a new piece of art with the plastic bottles they also learnt a vital environmental message about the importance of recycling.

Throughout June and July, Knowsley’s Cultural Festival presented an array of events including new exhibitions, musicals, comedy, carnivals and a wide range of sporting activities such as schools athletics, crown green bowls, cycling and tennis.
