Need a plumber? You only have to TASK!

A scheme to help protect vulnerable residents from unscrupulous traders is now fully up and running. A new phone directory called TASK – the Trader Approved Scheme Knowsley – lists only those traders who operate in a fair and honest way and whose work is of an acceptable standard.

All traders are assessed by Knowsley Trading Standards officers and will be given ID badges and registration numbers to prove they are members of the scheme.

Neil Turner, Head of Knowsley Council’s Environmental Health and Consumer Protection Division, commented, “TASK has been developed to tackle the problems caused by rogue traders, is aimed at reducing the fear of crime and will give the elderly and vulnerable members of our community peace of mind when inviting tradesmen into their home.”
