Yes Minister!

Estelle Morris, Minister for the Arts, visited Brookfield High School in Kirkby recently. She was invited to Kirkby to look at the partnership between Brookfield Specialist Sports College and Kirkby City Learning Centre (CLC).

Pam Jervis, Headteacher of Brookfield takes up the story, “She visited our new high performance studio and talked to the GCSE dance group. She looked at the digital analysis equipment they were using and chatted to a group of pupils working in the CLC. While visiting the school she also met pupils and staff from Cherryfield Primary School who were taking part in a mini olympic games organised by year 10 Brookfield pupils in the school’s new sports hall.”

Knowsley’s Director of Education, Steve Munby and Director of Leisure, John Bell took the opportunity to speak to Estelle over an informal lunch, hosted by Pam and her teaching colleagues from Brookfield.

Pam continued, “The visit was a great success and everyone who took part enjoyed meeting and talking to the new Minister for the Arts. We hope that she enjoyed visiting Kirkby.”
