Stockbridge resident Barbara Lawler is pictured here receiving the new Barclaycard Community Sports Award at the Knowsley Sporting Honours evening held recently at the Huyton Suite. The evening was the culmination of several months of planning by the Knowsley District Sports Council and Knowsley Borough Council.
Barbara received the award in recognition of her involvement with the Knowsley Strikers, a team of special needs ten-pin bowlers. She dedicates much of her time to coaching and managing the team and had originally nominated the team itself for an award.
