Knowsley Age Combined

Working in partnership to bring people together

On Monday 18th October, Bowring Park Comprehensive School played host to the launch of Knowsley Age Combined, a cross-generation campaign aimed at bringing generations together.

Knowsley Age Combined is a joint initiative by Knowsley Community and Youth Services, Health 2000, Stockbridge Community Action and Age Concern Knowsley, aimed at fostering better relations and understanding between older and younger people.

A range of events took place during the week of the campaign, including the recreation of a Victorian Schoolroom at Beechwood School and the sharing of IT skills. The campaign culminated with Kite Flying on King George V Field.

Those involved are currently in the process of evaluating the events and planning the next steps. Donna Davies of Health 2000 told Huyton Today, “The IT training at Bowring and the Victorian Schoolroom were both a great success. The Saturday morning Kite Flying was also very well attended. We are now looking at ways to get more people involved.”
