Steve currently works for Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council as Executive Director (Community and Personal) with special responsibility for a wide range of areas including education, social services, housing and neighbourhood services. He is expected to take up his post in the next few months.
Steve’s background has involved working in social services. He joined local government in 1974 with Bolton before joining Blackburn with Darwen in 1997.
Steve will take Knowsley forward into the next Millennium, building upon initiatives and developments which have created a national and international reputation for this innovative authority.
Upon accepting the position Steve commented, “I am delighted to take up the post at Knowsley. The Council is clearly well run and is known as an innovative Local Authority. However, there are still many challenges facing us all in Local Government and I look forward to working with the Leader, all members and employees at the Council to take Knowsley into the 21st century.”
