A brilliant young gymnast from Knowsley has been selected to represent the North West Squad at the British Gymnastics National Finals.
Laura Haigh, 15, has Downs Syndrome and has recently achieved her Class 4 British Gymnastics Proficiency Award. Laura, a pupil of St Edmund Arrowsmith school in Whiston, has always integrated with the mainstream gymnasts. She trains at the Knowsley Gymnastics Centre in Stockbridge Village and Prescot Leisure Centre.
Martin Campbell, Deputy Head of Year 10 told Huyton Today, She is a model pupil, giving 100% to everything she does. A popular girl who deserves her success.
Laura achieved exceptional results at last months Regional Disability Championships, triumphing with two gold medals and one silver medal.
Coach Kathy Brown said, Lauras achievements have exceeded all expectations and she has been a real inspiration to us all.
