Talent Contest at Bowring for Zöe’s Place

On Wednesday 1st March, pupils at Bowring Comprehensive School took part in a talent competition to raise funds for Zöe’s Place. Pupils demonstrated their comic, singing, dancing and juggling skills during a fun-packed evening which raised a total of £361. A further £544 was also raised from other events earlier in the year.

The idea behind the evening came from Bowring pupils Kelly Worthington, Lisa Fullam, Danielle Garrett, Gemma Wilson, Keely Trimm and Chantelle Welsh who worked with staff and the Community Development team at the school to secure sponsorship for the event from local businesses.

Accepting the cheque for £941 at a special Assembly at the school, Graham Holder-Carter, Appeals Director for Zöe’s Place, thanked all the pupils and staff who were involved in the project. He said, “Although we do get support from large companies it is always especially pleasing when children raise money for other children.”
