Use of Language
Pupils use a PowerPoint presentation to investigate the language and style of newspapers.
By using an interactive presentation, pupils can discuss aspects of language and check their
own answers by clicking on various parts of the screen.
Pupils also compare examples of different types of newspapers, as well as looking at examples from the 1940s and early 19th century.
This lesson introduces Year 7 pupils to some of the basic writing skills required for news reporting and allows them the opportunity to compare and contrast two different versions of the same well known story.
Once they have completed lesson one they are ready for lesson two.
