The Newspaper Project

All Year 7 pupils take part in the newspaper project as part of their English curriculum.

Use of Language
Pupils use a PowerPoint presentation to investigate the language and style of newspapers

Modelling and Analysis
During this lesson pupils get the opportunity to look at an on-line version of a daily newspaper and analyse the content of a news story.

The Drafting Process
Pupils are presented with information about an event. Following a group discussion, they write their own newspaper story.

Placing and Editing the final document
Pupils edit their own stories, correcting not only spelling and grammar, but also checking their facts and ensuring that all relevant information is included.
