After many months of planning and consultation with residents and parents, work on the new building for Malvern Primary School is now well underway.

The new school, the first to be built in Huyton for 20 years, is scheduled to open in September 2003 and will replace the “temporary” building constructed in 1952.

Phase 1 of the building work started on 14th October. When the new building is complete, the old school will be demolished and work will start on landscaping the grounds.

Amongst the plans for phase two are a cross country track that can be used by other schools in the area.

Everyone at the school is excited about the project which will finally see an end to the leaks and poor heating and ventilation that have plagued the current building for many years.
